The Objective of Dru Yoga Lessons:
|
Having lost my mother at the young age of 54 to Colon Cancer in 1995, this momentus loss led me to study a variety Alternative Therapies but was totally inspired by Dru Yoga which has been the guidance for me to live my life to its highest potential ever since. I started my Dru Yoga Teaching Certificate in 1998 and by today, it is the core of my being.
"There is no place quieter than the space that exists between each breath"
What could be simpler but somehow in our day to day live we seem to have lost this very natural state of being and for me, Yoga and its 'tool kit' has been the answer of using the breath to unlock the mystery of living life to the full. To be inspired by memories and planning for the future and somehow make this flow into a contented state of being and living in the present moment.
Yoga techniques set the mind free to dream and and be creative. Indeed, creating a freedom which is complete with love, warmth and happiness. Simply, where we should be - at ease with ourselves and those all around us, wherever we are. It is so easy for the mind to become cloudy by repetitive, negative thought patterns. Yoga is like a key which provides the peace to quietens the never ending chatter of the mind. The stresses and tensions of everyday life can overflow which in turn, leads to depression, stress, tiredness, pain and lack of energy. The answer is to focus through the simple techniques of Yoga. The posture is important - alert but relaxed following through a series of activations, energy block releases, breathing and relaxation. The conclusion is complete relaxation and contentment and more important, to have lots of fun, laughter and to enjoy life to the full.
The highlight of my career as a Yoga Teacher was a text from my son Colin (17) - a keen rugby player asking me to send a series of stretches to align and stretch his back before each training session. A breakthrough at last!
